Mrs.
Mary Kingsley, 75, 362 W. Locust Street, died Wednesday morning at Mercy
Hospital after an illness of four weeks.
Friends
may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the Didesch Funeral Home from where services
will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday to St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in St. Philomena Cemetery,
Asbury. The Rosary will be recited at
8:15 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Kingsley was born 75 years ago in County Clare, Ireland. She came to Dubuque from Ireland 59 years
ago. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and of its Rosary Society. She was
a daughter of the late James and Cecelia Linane Murray and was married to the
late William Kingsley in October of 1899.
Surviving
are one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Sarah) Wiedner and two sons, William Kingsley and
Joseph J. Kingsley all of Dubuque, six sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Delia) Kingsley Dubuque,
Mrs. Edwin (Sarah) Meehan, Mrs. Peter (Katherine) McGing, and Mrs. William (Susan) Quinn all of New
York, NY and Sister M. Columbkille, Order of the Sisters of the Holy Cross,
Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Patrick Murray, and one sister, Julia {Moylan}, both
in Ireland.
