Friday's Photo: Another Unknown Photo from Bienville Parish

This photo came from the collection of Marguerite Cook Clark. The high collar and tie led me to believe that this photo was taken in the very early 1900s.

Hinklea is written across the top. The green ink and handwriting show me that Marguerite's mother, Mary Marguerite "Maggie" Martin Cook, labeled the photo. Could his name be Hinkley? If you can identify this photo, please leave a message below or on my Facebook page

Friday's Photos: A Revisit to Bienville Parish Photos

Zelma Lucille Burroughs Jones
1918-2000

My recent posts containing photos from the Frye Family Collection need to be revisited.

These two photos, posted on April 19, 2019, were thought to be Velma Louise Burroughs who graduated from Ringgold High School in Bienville Parish.

The son of Velma Louise Burroughs saw the photos and stated this was not his mother but was his dearest aunt, Zelma Lucille Burroughs.

Zelma Lucille Burroughs, the daughter of Stephen and Bennie Dell Burroughs, was the younger sister of Velma Louise. She was born in 1918, graduated from Ringgold High School in 1935, and married Malvin Samuel Jones on November 20, 1941.

The photo of Mount Lebanon University, posted on April 26, 2019, was very faded and fuzzy. Several people belonging to Facebook groups History of Bienville Parish and Living Histories of Northwest Louisiana Families sent edited versions of the photos allowing us to more clearly view the details. Thank you all who sent photos! Here is one of the revisions below.
