Lucy Octavia "Tavia" Wimberly Gillon was the daughter of Hugh Robert Wimberly and Lula Martha Lawson. She was born October 21, 1892, in Ringgold, Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Tavia had three siblings; Mary Evvie Wimberly Allums, Eudora Wimberly Givens, and Julius Rush Wimberly.

She married Edward Belle Gillon about 1915. They owned a store in Ringgold and were members of the Bienville Welfare Bureau.

Tavia died in 1962 and Edward in 1968. They are buried in the Wimberly Cemetery.
