Friday's Photo: Edith Giddens
This is my grandmother, Edith Giddens Davis. I assume that this is when she was still single as she looks so young. Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Charles A. Giddens from Giddensville, NC and Mary Lucy Glynn from Putney, Vermont.

I'm thinking this could have been when my Mom was living with my Uncle Charlie after her Mom died. She used to talk about a Karakul(curly sheep) coat...this could be it. She looks so glamourous.....it's one of my favorite pictures of her....xox Aunt Janet

ReplyDeleteDiana, this photo was taken at a studio in Newark, NJ. I imagine it was taken in 1928 or 1929 because she looks very different in a picture taken in 1927. She may have been living at the Snell's or the Tolson's rooming house there in Newark.
