From the Files of Marguerite Cook Clark: James C. Watts and Jane Wimberly Watts of Bienville Parish



James C. "Jim" Watts, born 1 May 1874, was the son of Edmund B. Watts [also seen as Edmond] and Martha Elizabeth Wimberly.  James C. Watts married Jane Frances Wimberly on 7 February 1898.  Jane, born 20 January 1880, was the daughter of Ezekiel Wimberly and Emma Murph Golson.

  1. Noted (in the entries re: James Watts) there is a reference to a "Pierson letter" . Rachel Pierson Brown who was from the Carolias and lived at Saline "Brown town" LA. Wondering if you have information about the "Pierson: letter". I am just starting genealogy and appreciate help. Thank you.

    1. The Pierson letter came from the book below. I looked in the index for Rachel Brown and for Rachel Pierson but did not see her in the book. The book contains a large collection of letters written during the Civil War.
      Thomas W. Cutrer and T. Michael Parish, Brothers in Gray, The Civil War Letters of the Pierson Family (Louisiana State University Press, 1997), p. 240.
