I've had a busy summer and am a little behind on my blogging so I will post several in the next few days to catch up. The topic for #52ancesters, post 29, is musical so I chose this photo from the collection of Marguerite Cook Clark.
This shows a portion of a larger photo with what appears to be a congregation. Grand Bayou and 1905 were written on the back. This photo will be posted on a later date. |
According to the sign, the year is 1911. V. M. C. on the sign might represent the name of the choir. The transom window and the trim above match that of a photo of the Grand Bayou Church found in Marguerite Cook Clark's collection.
A group photo is no fun without close-ups. Please contact me if you are able to identify family members.
