Granny Frye's own aunt Litha McCrary - Litha Bryan
Ann Fuquay another sister
Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Bryant is written on the back of this photo found in the Frye Family Collection. I wasn't quite sure how this family was related to my Bryans so scanned it as it isn't unusual to see Bryan written as Bryant and Lawson is a frequent name seen when researching Bryans in Bienville Parish.

The Frye family, who graciously opened their home to allow me to scan these photos, are descendants of my great-great-grandfather, Reddick Bryan. After looking at the Frye family tree, I found the Lawson Bryant family is not my family. However, a marriage does link the Lawson Bryant family to my Reddick Bryan family.

Allie Belle Trott
Allie Belle Trott, great-great-granddaughter of Reddick Bryan and Elizabeth Regan, married Charles Jefferson Frye. Her parents were William Jackson Trott and  Laura Lula Cook. Her grandparents were Joseph W. Cook and Josie Bryan. Josie Bryan Cook was the biological daughter of Joseph B. Bryan and Sarah Margaret Wimberly and the adopted daughter of James Bryan and Alice Mary Wimberly (siblings of Joseph and Sarah).  Joseph B. and James were sons of Reddick Bryan.
Alitha McCrary (Mrs. Lawson Bryant)

Charles Jefferson Frye's mother, Sarah Ann McKinney was the daughter of Alexander Fulton McKinney and Sarah Ann McCrary. Sarah Ann McCrary and Alitha McCrary (Mrs. Lawson Bryant) were sisters.

To learn more about the family of Thomas Lawson Bryant and Alitha McCrary read pages 1268 to 1270 in A History of Texas and Texans, Volume 3 by Frank White Johnson. You can read it below or click on Google Books to read and download a larger version.
